Keyboard Culture in 18th Century Berlin and the German Historical Consciousness

Lincoln Hall, Barnes Hall, Anabel Taylor Chapel

A four day festival will be held in order to celebrate the completion of Cornell's new baroque organ in Anabel Taylor Chapel in March. The festival will feature 18th century keyboard music in all its guises, ranging across many different keyboard instruments and repertoires. The festival will also include discussion panels on the aesthetic and political issues of cultural reconstruction in Germany today such as material culture, handcraft and the loss of tradition in organ-making, and the Bach family.
