“Performativity, theater, and sound” with International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE) Residency

Performance & Music
December 4
Kiplinger Theatre, Schwartz Center
Presented by Piyawat Louilarpprasert

ICE at the Schwartz Performing Art Center for a concert of music rooted in the performative aspect of sound as a means of theatricality. The way in which sound is produced and listened to within the concert hall is a grand performance in itself. ICE and Cornell composers will work to toy with different notions of sound production and the volatile relationship between performativity, theater, and sound. This event would enhance the musical aesthetics of the Ithaca community and invite both musicians and the general public to find a true understanding of the musical context of today while exploring the unique voices found within Cornell’s distinguished composition department. CCCP conducts a concert series of volatile relationship between performativity, theater, and sound with the collaboration of Cornell Composers and International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE).

Tuesday, December 4; 8:00 pm
