The South Asia Program presents a series of events examining the theory and practice of rasa, the aesthetic expression of emotion in performance, being used in both traditional and contemporary music, dance and theatre performances and performer training contexts.

Participants in the day-long symposium include professors in anthropology, theatre arts, dance and emoticon science; workshop leaders will include instructors in modern and classical indian dance and theatre arts.  The performance will include dancers Durga Bor and Lindsay Gilmour, theatre artist Paula Murray Cole, and musicians Max Buckholtz, Freddy Billano, Chris Seeds and a wind instrumentalist to be named. 

This event was organized by Durga Bor, program coordinator for the South Asia Program, Cornell University; Paula Murray Cole, assistant professor, theatre arts, Ithaca College; and Lindsay Gilmour, assistant professor, dance, Ithaca College.
