Out of the Landscape and Back In: Documentation of Two Recent Projects by Chris Oliver

Photographs documenting two projects PATH SHED, and DODGE 100 HISTORIC RECREATION SITE.  PATH SHED, is a small wooden structure built around a section of forest to explore the dynamic relationship and struggle between the built environment and natural world.  The visitor will walk through the forest, down the path and encounter the building with both doors closed.  The path goes straight to the door, not around the building, so the visitor must open and prop the door, walk up the steps, over the threshold and then down into the interior and back into the forest floor.  Inside, nature, temporarily stalled and preserved by architecture, will be experienced.
Extensive Documentation of THE PATH SHED (and the piece itself) will also be in the Annual Artist In Residence Exhibition at the Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in Cazenovia:  Sunday, Nov. 21— Dec. 12.  Opening Reception: Sunday, Nov. 21, 3:30pm – 5:30pm, John and Virginia Winner Memorial Art Gallery

The shed is permanently installed at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, Cazenovia, NY.
