Creative projects listed under EVENTS + EXHIBITIONS are funded in part with a grant from the Cornell Council for the Arts.

The CCA awards grants to Cornell Faculty, Departments, Programs, Student Organizations, and Student Artists to support creative art projects that engage any singular art form or any mixture of art forms, and may be exhibited, presented, or performed in on-campus as well as off-campus venues.

Resoundingly Queer

Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts and various locations
A multi-disciplinary conference organized by Nick Salvato and Sara Warner, assistant professors in Theatre Arts, designed to consonate with the Society for the Humanities exploration of sound, this gathering of artists, academics and activists will explore the utterances, echoes, moans and groans that animate contemporary studies of sex, gender and sexuality. The conference will include performances and interactive workshops by gender-bending luminiaries of the stage and screen, as well as plenary sessions featuring scholars and practitioners in conversations on panels, roundtables and interviews.

Renowned filmmaker John Waters will participate as keynote speaker, and other notable participants include Holly Hughes, Paul Vogel, Carmelita Tropicana and scholars Jill Dolan, José Estaban Muñoz and David Savran.
