Presented by The Melodramatics Theatre Company
The Melodramatics Theatre Company, Inc. (MTC) will be presenting Stephen Sondheim’s daring musical Sweeney Todd.
MTC’s production will feature talent from Ithaca College, Cornell University, and the Ithaca community. Sweeney Todd has fascinated audiences for years with many revivals and productions in several countries.Sondheim unfolds a revenge tale of murder, meat pies, and a series of close shaves. Full of both intense drama and dark humor, Sweeney Todd is a classic musical that poses many timely questions about greed, class conflict, corruption, love, family, obsessive devotion, psychological disorders, and the grey areas that may confound any fixed delineation between good and evil regarding behavior and intentions.
