Performance & Music
March 2, 2013 at 8pm
The Cornell Wind Ensemble, Cornell Chorus, and soloist Susan Botti will be performing Cosmosis -- a concert written by Botti herself in 2005 in response to May Swenson's poem "The Cross Spider." In addition to the performance of the concert, images and video of spiders weaving webs in zero or low gravity will be portrayed behind the ensemble. Professor Linda Rayor, senior research associate of anthropod behavior and Cornell's resident "spider woman," will be on hand for a pre-concert talk on spiders and their web-spinning behaviors. The concert will also feature guest conductor and composer Frederick Speck from the University of Louisville.
