Student Performance: April 9, 2011, The Schwartz Center for the Performing Arts
The project is a three-phase community conversation about race at Cornell University. The project kicks off with a performance of the play Dispatches from (A)mended American with nine professional actors including Brandt Adams, Sarah K. Chalmers, and Godfrey L Simmons, Jr. This documentary play is a true story of a black man and a white man who interviewed Southerners about race and politics during the month leading up to President Barack Obama's inauguration. Following the performance twenty-four Cornell students will embark on their own process of creating a documentary play about race that will be performed on April 9. Contact Sarah K. Chalmers at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
