Julia McFadden is an emerging artist whose works explore language and communication systems. She is interested in grammatical structures as well as the visual forms of letters and characters, and draws upon her multilingual knowledge (English and Korean) to create her animations. Her work incorporates still and moving imagery that feature words, syllables, and letter forms that blur the distinction between legibility and nonsense. She enjoys re-working the rules of language to create her own linguistic worlds that hold a logic of their own.
