Brazilian Artist Eder Muniz will talk about his work transforming the streetscapes of Salvador, Brazil through the magic of his art. Muniz is committed to using his artistry to inspire a dialogue with the public about the balance between humans and nature. Muniz’s art incorporates nature, human figures, animals, abstract and surreal images in bright, vivid colors that bring his art to life. Muniz will discuss the impact such art can have in impoverished areas and the life it can bring to people who need it the most. After the lecture, Muniz will discuss the mural he created for Cornell Botanic Gardens at the Nevin Welcome Center as part of the Cornell Council for the Arts Grant Program.

Admission is free but pre-registration required due to limited seating. We anticipate this lecture will be sold out; please plan ahead as walk-ins will not be accepted.

Watercolors by Muniz will be on display in the Nevin Welcome Center Gallery September 23-November 23.
