The Loneliness Project (AGIT Lab)

Performance & Music
April 19 - 21
Black Box Theatre, Schwartz Center
Presented by the Association of Graduates in Theatre (AGIT) Lab

This documentary play, crafted in a collaboration between Chicago LGBTQIA+ artists and community members, uses verbatim testimony to document the rich history of Chicago’s LGBTQIA+ activist communities and to make sense of their fracturing over the past 20 years.

A tale of fierce activism, profound loneliness, and remarkable resilience, The Loneliness Project employs the documentary method as not only a mode of artistic creation and preservation but also as a mode of collaborative problem-solving.

In a moment when recent legislative advancements may be in peril and urgent community needs continue to be overlooked, how do artists, activists, and organizers maintain focus on and respond to the most immediate needs of our communities?

Tickets for Schwartz Center performances are $5 and are available online or at the Schwartz Center box office Monday–Saturday, 1:00 p.m.–8:00 p.m.
