Creative projects listed under EVENTS + EXHIBITIONS are funded in part with a grant from the Cornell Council for the Arts.

The CCA awards grants to Cornell Faculty, Departments, Programs, Student Organizations, and Student Artists to support creative art projects that engage any singular art form or any mixture of art forms, and may be exhibited, presented, or performed in on-campus as well as off-campus venues.

Songs of the Land: poems of Ishion Hutchinson

Guest singer Rachel Calloway and pianist Xak Bjerken from Cornell's Music Department premiere four songs set to poems by Cornell poet Ishion Hutchinson, from his two collections: House of Lords and Commons and Far District. Doctoral composers writings the songs are Jihyun Kim, Can Bilir, Charlie Peck, and Barry Sharp. Also on the program are works by Ruth Crawford Seeger, Berg Wolf, Corigliano, and Chris Cerrone.
