The 10th annual Emerging Artist Exhibition will be held at the Johnson Museum in 2011.  The Cornell Council for the Arts curates an exhibition that displays the very best quality and artistically distinguished work from its student grants program over the preceding four years.  The call for work is open to all Cornell alumni artists and staff members who have received an Individual Student /Staff Artist Grant from the CCA.  The work is blind juried by an artist selection panel consisting of external curators and artists jointly administered by the CCA and the HF Johnson Museum.  Additionally, the CCA publishes an exhibition catalogue and jointly hosts an opening for the event.

From September 2 to October 10 2004, the 9th Annual CCA Emerging Artists Exhibition was presented at the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art.  On view was the work of artists who, while students or staff at Cornell, received CCA grants from the years 1999-2003 to complete and exhibit art projects.  Artists for the invitational were be selected in Spring 2004 and included Julia Featheringill, Ritsu Katsumata, Graham McDougal, Jeffrey Pash, Brooke White, and Joseph Zane.

Since the inception of the CCA Individual Student/Staff Artist Grants program, awards have reached over 1,000 students from five colleges and staff members from a wide array of disciplines.  Proposed projects range from the following categories: visual and media arts to space and installation arts, performance and music arts to creative and literary arts.
